Wing shooting safaris are tailored to suit each group's specific requirements and can include photographic and sight seeing for non-hunting companions. Due to the different wing shooting options and species, emphasis is placed on variety rather than quantity.

We shoot guinea fowl, spurfowl, doves and sand grouse (dependent on local weather conditions) Some birds are driven, other times we do walk ups, otherwise for doves and sand grouse we do stands at local waterholes and springs.

Each wing shooting group will be provided with a Professional Hunter together with a complete back-up of staff and vehicles. We have a selection of 12 and 20 guage shotguns. Using our guns is usually much simpler than trying to import one’s own firearms.

Wing shooting is best arranged using a private mobile camp. Camps are usually set up under shady, picturesque acacia trees nearby the best chosen spots for game bird hunting at the time. Our safaris into these areas have invariably been successful and enjoyable largely because we know the region well. We adhere strictly to bag limits and maintain good relationships with both the wildlife department and the local communities.

The private camp is setup for individual groups in advance. We use large (walk in style) canvas sleeping tents, completely waterproof and insect proof. The tents are carpeted and inside are framed beds, chairs and tables. Behind each double tent are ensuite toilet and shower tents - hot showers are available at anytime. Dining involves three course meals prepared over wood coals by an excellent chef of many years service to Bateleur. Meals are served at linen covered tables with china and stemware. Bottled butane gas and 12 volt power, rather than a noisy generator is used for fridges and lighting. Laundry is done daily in camp. Transport is by comfortable four wheel drives
